Loyalty that Hinders – Success Binds

Family

Family *

Last week, I explained how a deep loyalty to one’s own family can create strong blocks in a life. Today, I would like to delve deeper and uncover such blocks to success.

Each family tends to have settings for success. Usually, people can sense a success minimum and a success maximum. Those who end up below the minimum easily turn into the black sheep of the family. No surprise there. However, even “too much” success can create problems. Are we allowed to be more successful than our father or mother? Our sister or brother? And what about the grandparents? (Granted, the American Dream demands that we are more successful than they were. But that’s different from family rules.)

Family rules work on the fear of being cast out of the family if they are not obeyed – and one of those rules demands having just the right amount of success. And what happens if you exceed the secret success maximum of your family?

You can expect a lot of trouble and frustration. Our subconscious excells in finding highly creative ways to protect us from losing our family – and thus sabotages our success whenever we cross the limit. If that sounds familiar, the following tapping round might be exactly what you need.

KP: Even though there is something that blocks my success, I’m okay the way I am and open to the possiblity that it is an old family rule.

Even though I keep sabotaging myself whenever I might just reach being successful, I’m okay the way I am and open to the possiblity of changing this right now.

Even though I keep missing success by just a little bit all the time, I’m okay the way I am and open to the possibility there is actually a good reason for it.

IE: I just can’t be successful!
OE: Something is blocking me.
U
E: And when I look closely, it seems like incredible bad luck.
UN: I’ve worked so hard. I tried everything!
CP: But this seems to be the limit of what I can get.
CB: As if it were a law or something.
UA: But maybe those family rules really do exist.
AW: Maybe there is a real reason for all my trouble.
Take a deep breath!

IE: Okay, I’m ready to try this.
OE: Let’s just assume there really is such a rule
U
E: that makes life so hard for me.
UN: And now I’ll say: Hey, rule. Show up!
CP: I am not allowed to be more successful than my parents,
CB: or my siblings … (change this if it doesn’t fit.)
UA: I’m just not allowed to be more successful.
AW: Or I won’t belong anymore.
Take a deep breath!

IE: Woah, this is massive!
OE: Because I do want to belong!
U
E: And I want to be successful.
UN: What a trap.
CP: But maybe it’s all a misunderstanding.
CB: Maybe it’s just not true anymore.
UA: Maybe I’m allowed to be successful after all.
AW: And I bet my parents and siblings would be happy for me!
Take a deep breath!

IE: I now allow myself to be successful anyway
OE: and still belong to my family!
U
E: And I allow myself as much success as I want to have!
UN: And I will still belong to my family. Nobody can take that away from me.
CP: I allow myself now and forever to both be successful and a full member of my family. I can have both!
CB: I’m allowed to be really successful!
UA: And my family will be happy for me and with me.
AW
: And that feels really great!
Take a deep breath!

Remember to change any phrase that doesn’t seem to fit you. EFT is flexible enough for that. Also, family rules are usually deeply rooted inside our minds, so you might need more than just this one round before you can throw yourself into your next project without any fear and blocks. Keep at it! It’s worth it.
