Money Mindset – Money is Bad

Money is Evil

Money is Evil

All of us have lots and lots of beliefs about money. We soaked them right up as kids, from our parents, from school, from TV, from our friends. That’s because money is so central to our lives (much like family or friendships).

So we develop a lot of beliefs around it, and many are not exactly helpful.

One of the worst belief about money that you can have is this one:

Money is bad.

I think that’s a very old belief. It even existed in Roman times, when money became a major factor of the economy. And the reason behind this seems to be that money has a bad influence on people and/or causes bad things. It’s connected with:

– greed
– arrogance
– debt
– crime
– bribery
– manipulation

And just look at how some rich people are behaving, and you’ll get some substantial evidence that money could really be bad.

I’ll go into some of those in detail in later posts. So let’s just run with the idea that money is bad for now.

Who would want money, if it’s bad?

Every sensible person would stay away from bad things.

So if you have that belief, it’s not a surprise money doesn’t exactly flow freely to you. In fact, you’re probably doing everything to have just the bare minimum you need! And if you have a windfall, well, you’ll get rid of that as fast as possible. You’d be surprised by how fast the Universe can create very inventive ways of parting you from the money you don’t really want to have anyway.

I know people who have a car accident just when they got a bit of extra money. Or who lose their wallet with their spare cash. Or who burn their savings with a extravagant journey (nothing bad about the journey, but if they end up eating Ramen for half a year after it, that wasn’t exactly a good idea).

I’m sure you can detect the pattern in those examples. Do they sound familiar?

Is it possible that you might think money is bad? Or evil? Or a nasty influence?

Are you ready to let that belief go?

Let’s get rid of it!

Here’s some tapping to get you started.
(Check out the tapping video up under EFT if you want a reminder how it works.)

Even though I may have picked up the belief that money is bad at some point in my life, I’m totally okay the way I am, and I’m now ready to shift this and accept money into my life.

Even though I may be surrounded by people who believe that money is inherently bad, and that’s why I get rid of it as soon as possible, I’m still okay the way I am, and I’m now open to the possibility that money is simply a tool, to be used wisely.

Even though deep inside I believe that money is evil, I’m okay the way I am, and I’m now ready to shift that belief and choose to know that money simply is what I make of it.

Your Turn:
Does this belief sound familiar?
How did that make you feel?
What happened while you were tapping?
And finally – what are you writing right now?
Would love to hear from you!
